Hib “Mr. Lighthouse” Casselberry along with his beloved wife Martha were honored recently as family and friends said their final farewells. Hib had passed in 2019, and Martha joined him just recently. As per their wishes, they wanted their ashes put to sea off the Hillsboro lighthouse in the Gulf Stream so that they could travel the world together.
A nemorial bench for Hib and Martha Casseberry has been installed at Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse, Florida
A U.S. Coast Guard veteran, Hib was known as lighthouse preservation pioneer. Both he and his wife were founding members of the Hillsboro Lighthouse Preservation Society, and he also served as president. He was also a founding member of the Florida Reef Lights Foundation, the Florida Lighthouse Association, and several other historical preservation groups.
