Mission Point Lighthouse to host 2020 Michigan Lighthouse Festival in August

The Michigan Lighthouse Festival is a traveling event, taking place at a different lighthouse each year. Mission Point Lighthouse will be the guest of honor as it hosts the 2020 Michigan Lighthouse Festival, August 7-8. That date also coincides with National Lighthouse Day, Aug. 7. Marge Ellenberger, who runs the festival, says she and Mission Point Lighthouse Manager Ginger Schultz are still working on the details.

Morris Island Lighthouse (SC) lighted for Christmas, will be lighted again on New Year’s Eve

Dominion Energy and Save the Light Inc. have joined forces to relight the Morris Island Lighthouse. The famed lighthouse was lighted on Christmas from 6 to 9 p.m. and will again be lighted on New Year’s Eve from 6 to 10 p.m.

Grand Haven Lighthouse (MI) Conservancy seeks $75K

A grant could result in up to $75,758 being used toward Grand Haven’s lighthouses. The Grand Haven City Council on Monday approved applying for a Coastal Zone Management grant on behalf of the Grand Haven Lighthouse Conservancy. The Coastal Zone Management grant is a 1-to-1 grant, meaning the city will need to match the $37,879 if awarded it. The Grand Haven Lighthouse Conservancy would reimburse the city for matching grant funds.
