Bar Harbor Whale Watch’s all-day “Grand Slam” lighthouse cruises every July cruises close to 17 -18 lighthouses on the northern Maine coast and in New Brunswick, Canada. The 2020 cruise didn’t happen due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, this “virtual cruise” with lighthouse historian Jeremy D’Entremont, photographer Mike Leonard, and Julie Taylor of Bar Harbor Whale Watch was presented on July 24. The U.S. Lighthouse Society was a partner on the event.
U.S. Lighthouse Society Historian Jeremy D’Entremont is the author of 24 books and hundreds of articles on lighthouses and maritime history. He is a past president of the American Lighthouse Foundation and founder of Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses, and he has lectured and narrated cruises throughout the Northeast and in other regions.
