A series of Mid-Atlantic Lighthouse U.S. Postage Stamps is being released on August 6, and there will be a dedication ceremony at the Twin Lights State Historic Site in Highlands, New Jersey, at noon.
The stamps featured are Montauk Point, New York; Navesink, New Jersey; Erie Harbor Pierhead Light, Pennsylvania; Harbor of Refuge, Delaware; and Thomas Point Shoal, Maryland.
Jeremy D’Entremont is the author of more than 20 books and hundreds of articles on lighthouses and maritime history. He is the president and historian for the American Lighthouse Foundation and founder of Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses, and he has lectured and narrated cruises throughout the Northeast and in other regions.
