This year’s ornament features the Portsmouth Harbor Light Station in New Castle, New Hampshire. The image of the lighthouse came from a painting specially created by Mark Kuehn.
The 48-foot cast-iron lighthouse—built in 1878—is maintained today by Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouses, a chapter of the American Lighthouse Foundation. This lighthouse continues to guide maritime traffic into one of the most historic ports in the country.
